First Aid at Work for Dance Instructors

This course is extremely important in maintaining your pastoral care duties as a dance instructor. It is also a requirement if you wish to work as a dance instructor in schools, gyms and most dance schools.

(If you want to set up your own dance school someone on the premises should be competent in first aid)

On this course you will learn the essential skills needed to be confident in first aid situations that may arise when teaching in:

  • Primary and secondary schools
  • Your own dance school
  • Gyms
  • Venues in the local community

Some of the subjects covered include:

Basic life support

  • Pediatrics
  • Primary and secondary survey
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • The first aid kit
  • The recovery position
  • Shock
  • Asthma, epilepsy, diabetes
  • Fractures and sprains

Assessment will take place at the end of the course. Passing successfully will lead to you gaining the qualification.
